Lucifer is a well-dressed, imposing, and very tall man who looks to be somewhere in his late thirties to early forties, if the greying tips in his hair are of any indication. He typically stands with his arms crossed and a bored-looking variation of resting bitch face. He has the tendency to appear unapproachable at all moments and, very notably, is usually constantly wearing gloves. If he's not wearing his gloves, one can see that his nails are painted a shade of crimson. On top of that, if he can get away with it, Lucifer typically drapes his coat over his shoulders instead of wearing it like an actual person.

While he has a rather formal and slightly ostentatious way of speaking, if he gets upset enough, Lucifer's entire vocabulary flies out the window. He very rarely curses, but because of the aforementioned formalness, him saying something brasher than "damn" is either extremely hilarious or horribly concerning depending on the situation.

At any one moment, Lucifer seems very arrogant, not only in the way he carries himself and his posture but in the way he speaks with a subtle edge that says: "I'm better than you." Does he believe this? Yes, absolutely. Does he want you to believe that he believes this? Also yes.

PERSONALITY & HISTORY

Lucifer was originally an angel residing in the Celestial Realm with his six younger siblings — Mammon, Leviathan, Asmodeus, Beelzebub, Belphegor, and Lilith. A series of events beginning with Lilith sparked a rebellion of the seven from God, their father; in the aftermath, all of them were cast out of Heaven and Lilith was mortally wounded. This event would come to be known as the Great Celestial War.

In the aftermath of the war and having fallen into Hell (the Devildom, as it is known by), Lucifer met with the Prince of the Devildom, Lord Diavolo. Diavolo told Lucifer he'd be able to save Lilith from death, but only if Lucifer pledged loyalty to him. Lucifer agreed, and Lilith was therefore reincarnated as a human; this information is something Lucifer kept a tight-lipped secret for a thousand or so years after, feeling as though he should bear the responsibility singularly and not involve anyone else. As an additional consequence to the War's end, Lucifer, in a fit of rage, tore off two of his six wings, which then created or "birthed" his youngest sibling Satan.

Nowadays, Lucifer and his six younger brothers live together in what is known as the House of Lamentation, a perhaps-haunted and likely-cursed mansion that was formerly the scene of some gruesome murders in the human world before it was transferred to the Devildom. They collectively attend a school (more accurately, a college) made for demons known as the Royal Academy of Diavolo or RAD for short, the purpose of which is to educate the population of the Devildom to assure a well-structured society, although their classes are certainly more demonic and magical than what would be seen at a typical college.

After their Falls, each brother took on a specific "sin" to embody, Lucifer's in particular being Pride. While Lucifer was strict before the fall, becoming a demon seems to have made that much, much worse; Lucifer is incredibly unforgiving and harsh in his punishments, usually being called "sadistic" and uptight. This is likely a psychological consequence of losing Lilith due to an unconscious feeling of having not "done enough" to keep her behaviour "in line", since the Great Celestial War and her death were consequences of her own actions; trying to keep his still-living siblings "in line" through excessive force is very likely a defense mechanism he's unaware of. He is very subtly overprotective of his siblings and would get into (another) knife fight with God for them.

Being the Avatar of Pride himself, Lucifer displays, well, a huge sense of pride. He values his reputation highly, views himself as extremely capable and skilled, and quite frankly views himself as the last bastion standing between sanity and chaos. This sense of pride can, however, extend onto others; Lucifer outwardly praises those who make him proud and will make an active effort to keep them around.

He is unceasingly loyal to Lord Diavolo, and although their relationship started off as more of a business endeavor, they are... questionably gay. Lucifer's undying loyalty is usually the butt of jokes from his brothers, where they harass him about the nature of his relationship with Diavolo, going as far as to call him "Diavolo's loyal lap dog".

While Lucifer tends to be on the stricter and more serious side of things, there are times when he will opt to be a bit sillier, an example being when he freezes Mammon's credit card to prevent Mammon from spending any more money... by quite literally hiding it in the freezer. Lucifer is also fond of classical music, especially records that are said to be cursed.

ABILITIES & INVENTORY

DEMON FORM: At any time, Lucifer is able to swap between the appearance of a human male (default) and his true form as a demon. The form switches can either be controlled and calculated or happen during states of heightened emotion (such as anger). Importantly, the form he's in doesn't seem to confer any additional benefits, save for the fact that he's likely capable of flight in his demon form.

MAGIC: Lucifer is the oldest and therefore strongest of his brothers, and the third-strongest demon in the world proper (only behind Lord Diavolo and Barbatos in terms of power). Therefore, he possesses extremely powerful magic. Canon is vague as to the specifics of his magic, i.e. he has no specific "type" given to him that he's especially proficient at, although it is said that he is proficient in complex spells (an example being a spell to seal Belphegor in the attic room). Lucifer also possesses immunity to most types of spells being cast on him, magical potions, and curses, as well as the ability to break curses with barely any effort. Magic in game canon is usually cast with a very specific incantation stating the caster's name and intent.

PACT-MAKING: As a demon, Lucifer has the ability to make pacts with humans. The human in question would have access to his specific powers and be able to slightly "control" him, although canon establishes that the pact-bearer would have to be extremely powerful to have any sort of control over him at all. Lucifer is also not in the habit of making or allowing pacts to be made with him, so there's that.

WEAPON PROFICIENCY: Lucifer is shown to be proficient with a sword, but for the most part he uses whips and riding crops to dole out punishments. He's also been known to string people up from the ceiling by their ankles as part of punishments and is clearly very adept at overpowering others physically to even get them into that state in the first place.

DEMON CHARM: By looking into the eyes of a chosen victim, demons can "charm" beings and sway them to their will. Lucifer's charm ability is not as strong as that of his brother Asmodeus, and he rarely opts to use it, but it is something he can do.
